News Article: BUILD IMMUNITY WITH VITAMIN C

With the onset of winter, with its accompanying colds and flus, it makes good sense to eat foods high in Vitamin C and supplement your diet if it is not adequate.

Benefits:
- Fights infection and stress, colds and sore throats.
- Good weapon against viral diseases.
- Builds collagen (the glue that holds us together).
- Helps the body absorb iron.
- Helpful for asthma, bronchitis, hay fever, respiratory disease, vericose veins, canker and cold sores, bruising, bleeding gums.
- Increases resistance to cancer. Dr. Linus Pauling, renowned Vitamin C expert, believes that cancer may be a disease of Vitamin C defficiency, and that large doses of Vitamin C increase the average survival times of terminal patients four-fold.
- May prevent kidney and bladder stones and other serious bladder conditions.
- Dr. Dean Burk of the National Cancer Institute published in the journal, "Oncology", that "Vitamin C kills cancer cells and is at the same time harmless to normal cells"

Ascorbic Acid Flush:

According to Dr. James Balch, M.D., Urologist, it is beneficial to flush the body with ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) to treat chemical allergies, chemical poisoning, radiation poisoning, infulenza, and to protect the body from bacterial infections, pollutants, cancer and AIDS.

He recommends taking 1000 mg. of ascorbic acid every half hour, keeping track of how much was taken, until diarrhea occurs. Subtract 1000 mg. from this amount and take this much every 4 hours for 1 to 2 days. The stool should be a tapioca consistency. If it becomes watery, reduce the dosage again. Calcium ascorbate, buffered ascorbic acid or an esterified Vitamin C may be used.
