Description:

Natural HRT from Swiss Herbal: The Natural Choice.

Natural HRT is the complete hormone therapy alternative created by Swiss Herbal from all natural sources. It is formulated to provide significant benefits to your overall health and prevent the more serious complications that can follow menopause. Natural HRT was created exclusively for Swiss Herbal by a dedicated team of Medical Doctors, Naturopathic Doctors and Herbalists--led by Swiss Herbal's Director of Research Dr. Elvis Ali, B.Sc., N.D., Dipl. Ac., D. Hom.

Your alternative to synthetic HRT

For centuries, women have treated their menopause symptoms with natural remedies. It is only in recent yeaars that a pharmaceutical approach has been promoted, using synthetically produced estrogen and progesterone. The most widely prescribed, and one of the most controversial synthetic hormones of out time ( Premarin ), is derived from the urine of pregnant horses.

This, and other synthetic products, do not complement human hormone processes. In fact, recognized experts believe synthetic estrogen accounts for the unpleasant side effects of currently prescribed synthetic HRT. These include vaginal bleeding, nausea, fluid retention, headaches, anxiety and depression. It is little wonder, many women consider 'estrogen' to be a dirty word.

There is also strong evidence to indicate a link between long-term synthetic HRT usage and the incidence of cancer; a 1995 study featured in the New England Journal of Medicine found that women who took hormones for five or more years had a 30% to 40% higher incidence of breast cancer than those who were not undergoing synthetic HRT. Furthermore, there is no conclusive evidence that synthetic HRT reduces the risk of heart disease.

Effective and safe menopause management is achieved by balancing the natural estrogen and progesterone in the body - not by merely introducing synthetic estrogen into the body in the hope that it will mimic the natural hormonal balance and relieve menopause symptoms.

More & more women are seeking an alternative approach that complements their natural body processes. This is why Swiss Herbal has focused its resources and expertise on the development of Natural HRT.

Natural HRT: Safe, Effective and All Natural

The most widely used and effective herbs for menopause include Wild Yam, Black Cohosh, Dong Quai, Chaste Tree Berry, and Red Clover. Swiss Herbal's Natural HRT is formulated using these, and other ingredients, to help regulate progesterone levels, promote hormonal balance and enhance bone density.

Swiss Herbal's Natural HRT gives you a daily supplement to enhance your overall health while aiding in the management of your menopause symptoms.

Standardized Wild Yam
( Dioscorea villosa )

Wild Yam, derived from the Mexican Wild Yam root, contains steroidal precursors which may regulate hormonal functions - this is vital to ensure many women experience a smooth menopausal transition.

Wild Yam was at one time the sole source of progesterone compounds used in producing contraceptive hormones. It acts to reduce inflammation, relax muscles, and is thought to be useful in preventing osteoporosis and endometriosis.

Standardized Black Cohosh
( Cimicifuga racemosa )

Known for its estrogen-like effects and ability to reduce the LH ( Leutenizing Hormone ) that contributes to hot flashes, Black Cohosh is also useful to counter might sweats, headaches and vaginal atrophy. It also has pain relieving and hormonal balancing properties for women.

Standardized Red Clover
( Trifolium pratense )

Red Clover is an excellent source of isoflavones, or phytoestrogens, the ingestion of which helps the body stimulate a mild estrogen-like response. Isoflavones can reduce menopausal hot flashes, increase bone density and maintain cardiovascular health.

Standardized Dong Quai
( Angelica sinensis )

Dong Quai is the most important remedy in Chinese medicine for women. It helps stabilize blood vessels; is a cardiovascular and hormonal tonic; and helps relieve a wide variety of gynaecological and menopausal symptoms.

Standardized Chaste Tree Berry
( Vitex agnus castus )

Chaste Tree Berry contains progesterone-like compounds or precursors which stimulate the release of Luteinizing Hormones ( LH ) and inhibit the release of Follicle Stimulating Hormones ( FSH ) associated with menopausal symptoms. It also helps maintain a balance between estrogen and progesterone which, by extension, prevents anxiety, mood swings, nervous tension and insomnia.

Burdock Root 4:1 Extract

Burdock Root is used in traditional medicine as a cleansing agent for the blood and liver. It appears to have mild diuretic properties which can help alleviate bloating, and also acts to regulate blood sugar levels and reduce inflammations.

IMPORTANT: Natural HRT is not recommended for children or pregnant / lactating women or those having estrogen dependent tumours. Consult a health practitioner if you are taking prescription medication.

How Long Will It Take Before Improvements In Menopausal Symptoms Are Observed?

Like many medications, most herbal remedies can take up to two weeks to two months to become fully effective. Swiss Herbal Natural HRT has shown a similar response time.

Does Swiss Herbal Natural HRT Have Any Known Drug Interactions?

Known drug interactions are rare and generally mild.

Standardized Wild Yam: The anti-inflammatory activity of this herb can be adversely affected by phenobarbitol, certain other sedatives and hypnotics ( chloral hydrate, meprobamate, etc. ), as well as beta-adrenergic blocking agents such as propranolol. May interfere with the metabolism of alcohol and barbiturates.

Standardized Black Cohosh: Should not be used with any vasoconstrictors such as ephedrine, methoxamine, phenylephrine or sympathomimetics because of the potential for severe hypertension.

Standardized Red Clover: Should not be taken with other estrogenic compounds including oral contraceptives, estrogen or progesterone compounds. May inhibit anticoagulant action of heparin, coumarin or aspirin. Estrogenic constituents may potentiate oral antidiabetic agents, folic acid antagonists and some corticosteroids. May raise glucose levels enough to alter insulin requirements in some patients with diabetes.

Standardized Dong Quai: The possibility of interaction with warfarin has been suggested, and a synergistic effect with calcium channel blockers may occur.

Standardized Chaste Tree Berry: Because of its diuretic properties, dosage of antidiabetic therapies may need to be adjusted.

Extract Of Burdock Root: The anti-inflammatory activity of this herb can be adversely affected by phenobarbital, certain other sedatives and hypnotics as well as beta-adrenergic blocking agents such as propranolol.

Consumers who would like additional information about possible drug interactions should consult their pharmacist and / or should contact the Research Department at Swiss Herbal at 1 800 268 9879.
