Description: Selenium, an important trace element, is recognized as an important antioxidant. It preserves elasticity of tissue by delaying oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Selenium works synergistically with vitamin E to produce antibodies and to protect the heart. It enables energy producing cells (especially those of the heart) to have enough oxygen.

Selenium protects against high blood pressure, stroke, heart attack and has been successfully used, in conjunction with vitamin E, to reduce angina attacks. It is vital for reproduction as selenium deficiency results in infertility.
