FOS (Fructooligosaccharides), derived from chicory root, are naturally-occuring compounds that increase the amount of friendly bacteria in the digestive tract. The addition of prebiotics such as FOS, can enhance the activity and numbers of beneficial probiotic bacteria. With FOS the numbers of good bacteria remain high, reducing the overgrowth of bad bacteria.
